Volunteer Transportation Program

UW-Madison students use the Volunteer Transportation Program to reach volunteer sites that are beyond walking distance and not serviced by Metro bus.

What is the Volunteer Transportation Program?

The Volunteer Transportation Program (VTP) provides free cab rides to volunteers. VTP is designed to support volunteers who want to volunteer but have transportation limitations.

Guidelines for this program:

• Volunteers must be registered UW-Madison students and be registered participants in the following Morgridge Center programs:
  • Badger Volunteers
  • WE Badger Volunteers
  • Schools of Hope Tutoring
  • Service-Learning Students (officially designated SL courses only)
• Volunteers must volunteer for at least one hour at their non-profit agency per ride.
• Volunteers must attend a brief orientation prior to using the service. If you attended an orientation in Fall 2012 you do not need to in Spring 2013.
• The service is only offered during the fall and spring semesters while classes are in session (It is not available over summer, winter, or spring break).

Orientation Schedule

• Orientations take place here in the Red Gym , generally taking only 15-20 minutes.
• Orientations have ended for the spring 2013 semester.
