Badger Volunteers is Going Green! This year is the first we have designated Green Teams, who will be riding bikes or walking to and from their sites! If you want to use your bike for transportation but your Team is not designated as a Green Team, you can Go Green with a few other team members or solo. There will be a place to mark this when you register for Badger Volunteers. This is a great way to appreciate the beautiful Madison scenery while Going Green!
Badger Volunteers is teaming up with LISAR (Lubar Institute for the Study of Abrahamic Religions) to take part in the White House Interfaith Initiative, creating Badger Volunteer Interfaith Teams! The teams will be made up of of students from different religious traditions, who will volunteer while learning about their group members with other perspectives during their community involvement. There will be one or two structured reflection times about the experience, which will take the place of the BV Educational Session requirement. This is an awesome opportunity to learn how students from different religious backgrounds can cooperate, while serving the community together!
Spring 2010 Badger Volunteers.
Badger Volunteers is a semester-long program that gives students the training and logistical support they need to provide meaningful and consistent service to the Madison community. Teams of UW-Madison students, organized by a student leader, serve community partners on a weekly basis for an entire semester.
We also have a ten-week summer volunteer program.
