  • Kathy Cramer | Faculty Director

    Kathy Cramer is a professor in the Department of Political Science and has taught a service-learning course called Citizenship, Democracy, and Difference for the past 14 years. Her teaching and research focuses on public opinion, civic engagement, and deliberative democracy. In 2006, she was the recipient of a UW-Madison Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award. Kathy also currently serves on the board of the YWCA and the City of Madison Equal Opportunities Commission. | 608-262-0787
  • Randy Wallar | Associate Director of Engaged Scholarship

    Randy Wallar provides leadership for the Morgridge Center for Public Service's academic functions and oversight for day-to-day operations. Randy began working at UW-Madison in 1987. In 1994, he served on the committee that crafted the proposal that led to the Morgridge Center.  Randy also teaches a service-learning course, Community Issues and Service Learning, through the School of Human Ecology. | 608-262-5781
  • Elizabeth Tryon | Assistant Director of Community-based Learning

    Beth Tryon works with community partners, faculty, academic staff and students to develop community-based learning (CBL) courses and projects. She co-chairs Wisconsin Without Borders and chairs the Community-University Exchange. Beth also manages the CBL Fellows program and the Wisconsin Idea Fellowships. Beth previously worked at Edgewood College and has been a recording jazz artist for over 30 years. | 608-890-3334
  • Megan Miller | Assistant Director of Civic Engagement and Communications

    Megan Miller manages several Morgridge Center for Public Service programs and events including Transportation Options, Public Service Fairs and Walk the Walk. She also supports communications. Megan became involved with the Morgridge Center as a student and later served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA with the Center, supporting local youth through the Urban League and Badger Volunteers. | 608-262-8446
  • Karen Crossley | Special Projects Director

    Karen Crossley helps advance a range of special projects at the Morgridge Center for Public Service, with specific attention to development and fundraising. Karen joined the Morgridge Center in fall 2012 to help launch a new focus area related to sustainability for Badger Volunteers. Karen previously has worked for The Nature Conservancy, the University of Wisconsin Foundation and, most recently, she served as Director of Dane County's Cultural Affairs Commission and Dane Arts. | 608-265-8247
  • Steph Harrill | Badger Volunteers Director

    Steph Harrill oversees the Badger Volunteers program, connecting over 650 student volunteers with community partners each semester to serve the interests of the greater Madison community. She served as a Badger Volunteers leader during the program's pilot semester in 2008 and returned to lead the program in 2013 after working at the Catholic Charities Guild for the Blind in New York City. Steph largely attributes her career path to her undergrad experiences at the Morgridge Center. | 608-262-0731
  • Kari Temkin | Badger Volunteers Coordinator

    Kari Temkin supports the operations, quality and growth of the Badger Volunteers program. Her experiences as an undergrad at UW-Madison propelled Kari into a life of public service. Following graduation, she completed two years of national service; with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), and with Public Allies. Kari then went on to receive her Masters in Public Service from Marquette University before joining the Morgridge Center staff. | 608-265-8218
  • Dean Ladwig | Department Administrator

    Dean Ladwig manages the Morgridge Center for Public Service financials, hiring, office administration and student program assistants. Dean started with UW-Madison in January 2003 working in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the School of Medicine and Public Health as a Medical Program Assistant. In April 2012, he joined the Morgridge Center for Public Service as a Financial Specialist, before moving to the role of Department Administrator. | 608-890-3590
  • Mark Bennett | Communications Specialist

    Mark Bennett oversees communications, marketing, promotions, design and branding at the Morgridge Center for Public Service. His work encompasses both traditional and new media, interacting with students, faculty and community members. Mark previously worked for a variety of units on the UW-Madison campus including Campus and Visitor Relations, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Memorial Union Reinvestment project with the Wisconsin Union. | 608-262-6066
  • Alaura Seidl | Assessment Coordinator

    Alaura Seidl coordinates program assessment efforts at the Morgridge Center for Public Service and leads a study with the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies concerning integrative learning outcomes for students in capstone courses. Alaura developed and currently teaches a service-learning course in the Department of Art which looks at the function of public art and various roles of artists in society, while students participate in community-based projects. |
  • Nancie Luther | Assistant to the Director

    Nancie Luther provides administrative assistance to the Morgridge Center for Public Service Faculty Director. From 2009-2012 Nancie served as the Assistant to Chancellors Biddy Martin and David Ward. She previously served as the executive assistant to the CEO of Unity at the UW Medical Foundation. Her role at the Morgridge Center focuses on assisting the Director with external and campus communications, supporting the advisory boards and event planning. | 608-265-8247
