10,000 Hours Show Dane County

This student led event started in Iowa three years ago and started in Madison in the Fall of 2006. UW students decided to start the 10,000 Hours Show in Madison as a way to get students volunteering in our community.  During the first year, 2006-07, the 10,000 Hours Show enlisted over 1000 volunteers totalling 12,355 hours of service to the community. During the second year, 2007-08, over 2000 volunteer registered logging a total of 14, 895 hours of service. During its third year, 10K had its largest year ever with over 32,000 hours of service.

However, the 10,000 Hours Show is a big undertaking, it is completely led and fundraised for by students. Because of this, the 10,000 Hours Show is taking a hiatus in 2009-10 to determine it feasibility at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Past performers of The 10,000 Hours Show concert include Robert Randolph and the Family Band in 2007 and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah in 2008. In 2009, Guster performed for the largest audience yet.
