Outstanding Community Partner Award

Community Partners are essential in accomplishing the Morgridge Center for Public Service’s mission to connect campus and community. The Morgridge Center for Public Service Outstanding Community Partner Award is given annually to a community partner who has demonstrated excellence in partnering with a university entity to provide opportunities for students to engage in and learn from the community.

The Outstanding Community Partner Award is presented to a community partner to honor and recognize their commitment and vital role in successful collaboration that brings campus closer to the community. The recipient of the award will show exceptional abilities the following areas:

Commitment to Addressing Community Needs: the community partner excels at inspiring and involving others to become engaged in service while comprehensively teaching them about issues in the community.

Collaborative and Reciprocal Relationship with Campus: the community partner engages in mutually beneficial relationships with the University of Wisconsin-Madison through collaborative work that addresses identified community needs and exceeds educational objectives.

A Bridge for Others to Learn: the nominee teaches their partners about their organization, culture, system and the importance of service while launching volunteers into a lifestyle of civic engagement.

The Be the Change Bash is the Morgridge Center’s annual end-of-the-semester celebration. The Bash honors students, staff, faculty and community partners who contribute their time and talents to both the community and the UW-Madison campus through service.

The event also includes the Morgridge Center’s annual award ceremony.
