College Advancement Mentorship Program
Providing high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds with tools to achieve academic and personal success. The program included weekly academic workshops and monthly motivational workshops with guest speakers, mental wellness sessions, and field trips.
Empowering Women Through the Decentralization of Waste
The project trained local women in San Luis, Costa Rica on repurposing clothing and textiles to provide women with additional income and decrease the amount of waste going to landfills, an increasing problem in the area.
Lobbying and Lawmaking in the Wisconsin Legislature
By analyzing data from the Wisconsin Ethics Board, the project sought to determine the effects of early-stage lobbying by interest groups on the Wisconsin Legislature’s legislative output.
Outreach to Promote Education for Multicultural Students through Scientific Role Models
The project aimed to promote equity, diversity, and success in science learning among underrepresented teens in the City of Madison. Through one-on-one assistance from UW-Madison tutors, students were provided personal attention to solidify improved outcomes in advanced science courses and post-secondary education.
Promoting Wheels for Winners
Wheels for Winners is a small non-profit organization in Madison that repairs donated bicycles and awards them to children for doing community service. This project focused on the creation and implementation of a strategic marketing plan, news articles, brochures and public service announcements.
Slow Food Educational Outreach and Social Justice Initiative
The Slow Food UW program used WIF funding to implement a project that expanded and created cooking lessons, meals and gardens at the Boys & Girls Club in South Madison.
Solar Bottle Bulbs in Rural Kenya
This project trained women in small Kenyan communities to make solar light bulbs for local homes and businesses where electricity was not available. The project used local materials and labor while empowering women.
The Kelly Nachreiner Donor Education Project

Transforming Ugandan Agricultural Practices
The project aimed to maximize the crop output and promote sustainability of the Rural Agricultural Resource Demonstration Center in Lweza through the addition of four cows and a cow crown.
Using Community Outreach for a Healthier Food Pantry
The project focused on improving the nutritional profile of the food offered and the level of community involvement through the development of new outreach materials and protocols to increase the amount of high quality, nutrient dense donations.
Youth Spotlight Project
