Public Service Fair

Public Service Fair

The Public Service Fair, hosted in the fall and in the spring, is an opportunity for local area nonprofits engaged in social impact and public service work to connect with UW–Madison students. Organizations are encouraged to share volunteer, internship and service year opportunities as ways for students to get involved.

When: Monday, Sept. 18, 2023
Time: 3-6pm (CST) Organizations can arrive and start setting up at 1pm
Where: Gordon Dining & Events Center

This event is presented by the Morgridge Center for Public Service, School of Human Ecology, and SuccessWorks at the College of Letters and Science.

If you are interested in getting connected and involved in the local community or you are exploring a career in the service/nonprofit sectors, this is the event for you.

You do not need to dress up or have your resume ready for this fair; please come to explore ways to get involved, build skills, and learn about activities happening in your local community.

This in-person event takes place (stop by anytime during the event) at the Gordon Dining & Event Center and is open to current UW–Madison students and recent alumni with a registered Handshake profile.

Students can access information about the organizations that will be in attendance here.

For general questions, contact Shelby Fosco.

Organization representatives can start arriving/unloading at 1pm and can connect with relevant campus partners in the fair space from 2-3pm. Campus partners in attendance include the Morgridge Center, Center for Community and Nonprofit Studies, Work Study, and several school career services centers.

Employer registration starts Aug. 1, 2023 and is open until Sept. 10, 2023.

Information for students to see participating organizations will go live Sept. 11, 2023.

New registration form for participating orgs can be found here.

UW–Madison recently transitioned to a new career services software platform, Handshake!
In order to assist with the employer registration, our campus has created a help page for Handshake:
