The Morgridge Center for Public Service is thrilled to welcome Cristina Nino to the team as its assistant department manager.
Nino comes to the Morgridge Center with an abundance of knowledge and experience in finances, human resource and administrative support — bringing skills that Department Manager Dean Ladwig is excited for.
“With Cristina in this role, we will be able to tackle projects that have been on the back burner for a long time,” Ladwig says.
As a junior at the University of Virginia, Nino transitioned her studies online and moved from a full-time student to part-time. From there, Nino found herself in various jobs — working as a librarian, HR recruitment and finding her passion for healthcare and business management while working in the pediatrics’ finance department.
When Nino discovered the Morgridge Center while searching for jobs, something unique about the center’s value and operating principals led Nino to apply for the assistant department manager position.
The Morgridge Center’s belief in respectful and mutually beneficial partnerships between UW-Madison and the community strongly resonated with Nino.
“I really thought it was interesting because I have never seen a mission statement like that as it pertains to a university office,” Nino says.
In addition, Nino is excited to be part of a team where she has the opportunity to take on projects that she is interested in and supervising student interns.
Currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in healthcare and business management while working full time, Nino is ready for the opportunities to come while working at the Morgridge Center.
The mission, students and office culture — Nino is ready for the challenge.
