2025 New Year’s Resolution: Attend the Spring Public Service Fair

Posted on January 27, 2025 | By Ruby Sandeman

Eager to start 2025 on the right foot? Embrace the chance to discover new passions, foster meaningful relationships, and take your first step toward making a difference. Join us for the Spring Public Service Fair, organized by the Morgridge Center for Public Service.

Here are five things to know before you go:

  1. Mark your brand-new calendar for Wednesday, January 29, 2025! This event is your chance to explore a wide range of topics—from social justice and sustainability to food security and civic engagement.Public Service Fair
  2. This in-person event runs from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Gordon Dining and Events Center, so feel free to stop by anytime during the event.
  3. No need to break out the blazer for this one! Unlike a job fair, students don’t need to bring a resume or perfect their interview skills. Casual attire and a positive mindset are all you need to engage with organizations and uncover exciting opportunities.
  4. Plan to arrive ready to broaden your horizons. The new year is the perfect time to explore your interests and connect with groups specializing in diverse areas. A few attending organizations include: Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County, Henry Vilas Zoo, JustDane, The Beacon, and the Wisconsin Youth Company.
  5. While registration is not required, people are encouraged to sign up for the event through GivePulse.      Might as well start the new year with a bit of commitment, am I right?

If you were waiting for a sign, this is it! Make 2025 the year of empowering connections, bold opportunities, and new beginnings—starting with the Spring Public Service Fair.

  • “The least commendable purpose of acquiring knowledge…is to apply it to one’s own advancement – to achieve worldly success. A higher purpose is to fit one to live the intellectual life…A third and the highest purpose of acquiring knowledge is to use it for the benefit of mankind.” — Former UW President Charles Van Hise
