Fall 2017 Public Service Fair

UW-Madison will be hosting its annual Fall Public Service Fair on Sept. 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Varsity Hall at Union South. Students from across campus are encouraged to attend and learn how to connect to community organizations.

The Public Service Fair helps students explore and find volunteer opportunities, internships, and jobs, with over 60 local and national nonprofit organizations. Students will have a chance to meet with passionate and eager representatives face-to-face, chance to connect interpersonally, and explore ways to get involved.

In addition to the fair, the International Internship Program will be holding a special concurrent workshop: “Teaching English Abroad Info Session” from 4 to 5 p.m.

Organizations attending the Public Service Fair include: AmeriCorps, Briarpatch Youth Services, Community Living Alliance, Gio’s Garden, La Follette School of Public Affairs, Madison Senior Center, Millennium Soccer Club, Peace Corps, Teach For America, and The River Food Pantry. Representatives from state and federal government agencies will also be present.

The Public Service Fair is sponsored by the Morgridge Center for Public Service which promotes civic engagement and building collaborative partnerships through public service, and L&S Career Services which supports students in finding career paths that align with their strengths and studies.
