In the past few weeks, we’ve seen UW–Madison flood with students as the school year has starting rolling. School is back in session, and students are ready to get involved on campus.
The Fall Public Service fair is the perfect opportunity for students of all majors to get connected with new organizations, internships, volunteer opportunities and nonprofit and government-related careers. The fair will be hosted on Monday, Sept. 18 at Gordon Dining & Event Center from 3-6 p.m.
The Public Service Fair is a one-stop shop for students wanting to explore service opportunities around Madison. The fair brings together nearly 60 service-related organizations, from areas including civic engagement, environment and sustainability, youth engagement, healthcare, government, law enforcement and gap and service year opportunities. Some of those organizations include: Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Teach for America, Wisconsin Youth Company and more.
The Public Service Fair is a chance for students to get involved and learn about their local community. Forget the stress of a job fair—at the Public Service Fair, students can attend any portion of the event, dress however they’d like and do not need to bring a resume or cover letter. Students are encouraged to attend at their convenience and meet organizations at their own pace.
Whether stopping by between classes or bringing a friend and visiting together, the Public Service Fair is a chance to meet new people, explore new organizations and find new opportunities.
This event is presented by the Morgridge Center for Public Service and School of Human Ecology. Contact Shelby Fosco for general questions.
