Connecting Campus and Community through Community-based Service, Learning, and Research
Before Earlise Ward’s days as a psychologist, researcher, and now, Morgridge Center for Public Service Faculty Director — she grew up in a family where “public service,” was just a supermarket trip away.
This year, the Morgridge Center for Public Service is forming new partnerships with 14 of those RSOs in a new initiative to better support and connect with student organizations involved in community-engaged work.
Eleven faculty and instructors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have been named “Morgridge Fellows” in a professional development program of the Morgridge Center for Public Service.

“The biggest thing is that you're nobody’s savior,” Baldridge says. “It was really getting them to burn their superhero capes and recognize that those desires are rooted in whiteness and white supremacy.”
The 2019-20 Wisconsin Idea Fellowships have been awarded to nine outstanding undergraduate projects at home and across the globe. A total of 15 UW-Madison undergraduate students are part of this year’s projects.
During the 2018-2019 academic year, Campus Compact for Wisconsin (CCWI) partnered with Campus Election Engagement Project (CEEP), a national, nonpartisan organization, to increase student voter engagement.
In-person absentee voting for the April 2 spring election is March 25-28 at three sites on campus. Offices on the ballot include Madison mayor, Madison city council and school board seats, and a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat.
The University of Wisconsin–Madison is proud to announce Emiliana Almanza Lopez as its 2019 Newman Civic Fellow. Lopez was nominated by UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank for her commitment to environmental justice.
